Wellswood Pharmacy provides a range of Services to Care Homes and people living in Extra Care or Care Villages.
Monitored Dosage System (MDS): This service is designed to assist carers and nurses in the administration, handling and record keeping of medicines in Care Homes and Residentials so they can offer the best possible care for their residents. MDS is a Medicine Storage system where medicines are packed into separate packs and into separate compartments allowing the patient to be given the correct medicine and dose at the correct time. This service is offered on both weekly and monthly basis. The system also includes Reminder Cards and all the Necessary Paperwork to help Care Homes operate to the highest government standards.
Training Support:
Wellswood Pharmacy provides training service for Care Homes and Residentials taking the care staff through from the basics of medication handling and how the MDS system is used as wells as the legal aspect of the receipt, storage, administration and destruction of medicines, their side effects and dosages.
Support with taking your medicines: Wellswood Pharmacy offers a weekly Cassette Medicine Service to its Community Patients. It is specially designed to help patients remember when to take their medicines and follow the dosage regimes at the right time. It is ideal for people who live in their own homes and do not have carers to help them with taking their medicines.
